2 The Granary originally formed part of Brighstone Mill and dates back to 1700. Converted in 1990, the living accommodation is on the first floor where there is a kitchen and open plan living/dining area. The ground floor has two bedrooms (1 with king size bed and one with 2 single beds) and a bathroom. The cottage is double-glazed and with gas central heating is ideal for holidays and short breaks all year round. The garden is enclosed, private and a real sun trap – you will love having breakfast on the patio!

We don’t accept pets.

Guests staying for 7 nights or more are welcomed with a hamper containing local island produce. The Brighstone Village Shop is well stocked and you should be able to buy most items that you will need during your stay. Holiday guests staying with us can benefit from free delivery and 15% discount on products from Grace’s Bakery – a discount code will be provided after booking.

We offer incentives for guests travelling without cars – from free maps, walking and cycling guides, to free foot passenger ferry tickets or 5% off cottage rental. Even if you bring your car we can still provide you with ideas for car-free days out and the offer of a 24-hour Group Rover Ticket for up to 5 people at a discounted price of £1.

Brighstone is one of the most popular and attractive villages on the Isle of Wight. It is situated on the south west coast, around half a mile from the sea. Brighstone has everything that you would hope for in a village – a church, pub, doctor’s surgery, tea room, grocery shop (including Post Office and newsagents), cafe & bistro, card & gift shop and even a hairdresser! The Brighstone Forest, Downs and coastal footpath are all within walking distance from the cottage and offer spectacular views.

Recent reviews

“‘Great location for travelling around the Island. Very clean and comfortable cottage, with everything you would ever need to make it a home from home. Unpack and enjoy your stay. Well-stocked local shop with local farm produce in the village. Well worth a return stay in the future”. Julie (February 2025)

So pleased we found the Granary. Everything we needed inside and a pleasant garden to sit in. Spotlessly clean and plenty of teabags, milk and coffee there for us although we had brought our own. Teresa, the owner, was very helpful prior to our arrival. Brighstone is a great location. Lovely walk along the brook into the village to the shop and the wonderful Tandem tearooms which are a must. Didn’t try the pub or the bistro – saved those for next time. cottages.com (April 2025)
