Brighstone is one of the most popular and attractive villages on the Isle of Wight. It is situated on the south west coast, around half a mile from the sea. Brighstone has everything that you would hope for in a village – a church, pub, doctor’s surgery, newsagent/cafe, tea room, grocery shop (including Post Office), card & gift shop and even a hairdresser! The Brighstone Forest is 2 miles away, and you will find some spectacular views around the island high up on the Downs.

Recent reviews

“It’s a delightful cottage and very well equipped. We are fortunate enough to travel a lot and your cottage stands out as one of the best we have stayed in.” (Tony & Jenny from Wiltshire, October 2023)

“I very much enjoyed my stay at 2 The Granary last week. The cottage was every bit as characterful, clean, and well equipped as it appeared on the website and thoughtful extras there included leaflets and books about the island, paperback novels (in case one should unaccountably become bored?!) and a chest of drawers filled with things to keep young children amused. The location is a quiet lane in the southwest of the island, but the whole island is within easy reach for days out. A footpath from the cottage shortens the walk into the village, passing the former mill pond and a must-see tree! The bus service through the village proved a great way to get to Newport in one direction and to Alum Bay in the other while I enjoyed the raised views and left the driving and parking to someone else! Besides being a pleasant place to relax and an ideal base from which to explore the island, 2 The Granary was also easy to book, Teresa taking care of the discounted ferry bookings and providing loads of helpful information. Highly recommended!” (Nigel from Warwickshire, September 2023)

“We had a great week, thank you and were even lucky with the weather. The cottage was really comfortable – you have thought of everything.” (Anon, August 2023)
